The Packaging Awards 2024 ceremony took place in an atmosphere of joy for the market on Wednesday 18 September 2024, at the Anais Club. Now in their eighth edition, the BOUSSIAS events awards are organized with the cooperation of the AGMPM (Greek packaging association) and reward companies that create innovative packaging with respect to the principles of sustainability.

The Chairman of the Evaluation Committee, Mr. Antonis Potamitis (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Sales Institute, President & CEO of WEST), pointed out, among other things, in his opening speech: "The Packaging Awards for the 8th year reward companies that create innovative packaging with respect to the environment and the principles of the circular economy. The award is an important weapon in the quiver of businesses to approach the consumer. This year's nominations were of a high standard and important. What we were happy to notice, apart from the increase in new companies participating, is their concern to use sustainable materials in their packaging. Technology today is intertwined with artificial intelligence (AI), a topic that will certainly be of great concern to us in the coming years. From now on we will have to look for whether anyone in the fields of packaging and printing has worked with the help of AI as well as where the creativity is hidden."

At the ceremony, two honorary awards were presented: the first to Mr. Zisis Grammoustianos for his ethos, work and contribution to the packaging industry and the second to Dr. Panagiotis Kyratsis for his academic work and contribution to product & packaging design.
